If you don't know I started a recommendation series called Book Recommendations for the (zodiac sign) in your life. I've done this with the Aquarius and Pisces symbols. Now it's Aries turn.
You are an Aries if you were born March 21st through April 19th. According to Horoscope, Aries bear the symbol of the Ram. They are ambitious, independent, impatient, passionate, competitive, loyal, and has a fiery temper. My mother is the Aries in the family. I would say she is independent, impatient, and loyal. She does have a temper at times but everyone does. I wouldn't say it was unlike anyone else. This is one where she sounds vaguely like an Aries. My mom reads a lot of popular mainstream authors like Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel. She enjoys thrillers and romance. She has changed up her reading these past few years especially since she's been asking me for books to read when she doesn't have anything planned next.
The characteristics I'm drawing from when looking for book recommendations are: Ambitious, Independent, and Competitive.
Ambitious means to have or show a strong desire and determination to succeed.
Who in the World is Carmen Sandiego? fits the description of ambitious because Carmen is determined to go to any lengths to right the wrongs of her former organization.
The School for Good and Evil fits the description of ambitious because Sophie will do anything to become a princess, even take down her only friend if she has to.
Heist Society fits the description of ambitious because it has a group of teenagers stealing back a priceless piece of art.
Independent means capable of thinking or acting for oneself.
The Nameless City fits the description of independent because Rat lives her life as she wants. She runs and jumps throughout the city streets.
Peaches fits the description of independent because Murphy takes care of herself since her mom doesn't. She lives her life doing what makes her happy.
In Her Skin fits the description of independent because Jo completely changes herself completely to have a better life.
Competitive means having or displaying a strong desire to be more successful than others.
Peak fits the description of competitive because Peak climbs skyscrapers and wants to be the youngest climber of Mount Everest.
Slam! fits the description of competitive because the team of rollerbladers goes through pain and injuries and keeps fighting back to win.
Offside fits the description of competitive because Faith sacrifices having to take care of her siblings to play soccer.
What books do you think fall under the characteristics of an Aries?
What a fun list! I'm an Aries - I don't know that I'd describe myself as ambitious or independent, but I definitely can be impatient and competitive, and I think I'm very loyal! I will have to check some of these books out!
ReplyDeleteOh yay, my turn!! I honestly think I will love all these books based on what you describe and my own personality traits (even if they're not 100% accurate of course). Heist Society has been on my TBR since forever so it's high time I got to it :) Thanks so much for the recs <3
ReplyDeleteI really loved The Nameless City, but I need to re-read that one and read the other two in the series!
