Choose My Next TBR Read #3

Welcome to my feature where you get to choose my next tbr book I read. I currently have 451 tbr books on my list which is one more tbr read than I want. I want to get down to 425 in the next two months. Ultimately, I want to only have around 100 books on my list so I'm never stressed about not reading enough. The last tbr read you picked was You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost). I just started it and am a little worried I'm not going to like it but I won't make a judgement call until I am 100 pages in.

I'll have several options covering various age ranges and genres. The way I chose these books is through a tbr jar. I wanted to talk about my tbr jar this month but that will probably happen next month since February is almost over. Stay tuned for whenever than happens!

Below are the options.

It might seem strange that My Plain Jane was chosen since it is a sequel. However, it seems like the books in The Lady Janies are all based on different stories set in different timelines from what I can tell. I really would love to read a retelling of Jane Eyre and have heard good things about this series so this would be fun to read. (Date added: November 8th, 2018)

Into the Darkest Corner has the most messed up premise I've heard of in a long time. The thing is I love thrillers as long as they don't have gore in them or are truly too disturbing. I'm excited to see how everything plays out especially since the main character has gotten herself out of the situation she was in so it'll be interesting how she deals with everything all over again. I'm pretty sure I added, deleted, then added again The Power of Habit on my tbr list. I hardly read nonfiction so I guess I thought I would never get to it. I enjoy books that can help me get into my head and others so I can be a better person. Basically, I like self help books. I end up rereading the very little I have read since they are so motivating and instructional. (Date added: June 30th, 2018)

I've recently discovered translated fiction and I love the idea of reading more books from around the world. I also like the idea of a book centered around death as a character so Death with Interruptions seems like the right fit for me. (Date added: November 29th, 2018)

Wolf Brother is a strange pick for me as well. It was actually a book my brother asked me if I wanted recently. I want to give it a shot since he gave it to me and is one of many books on my shelves I have not read yet. It also has a wolf cub in it and I love wolves so there's that too. (Date added: December 23rd, 2018)

With The Trouble with Twins it's sometimes nice to read about a nice adventure where sisters want to reconcile their differences. It's a very wholesome read and I could always use that with my escapism. It's also one of the oldest tbr books on this list so it'll be nice to read it already. (Date added: December 23rd, 2015)

The Royal Runaway sounds like so much fun. It's also perfect for my Royal Reading Challenge which I have yet to read a book for... It's very rare to read something like this book. It reminds me of when I read a bunch of Ally Carter books and I'm always here for reading books that will simply entertain me. (Date Added: December 22nd, 2018)

Now for the number one oldest tbr book on this list - The Fellowship of the Ring. I grew up watching the movies based on The Lord of the Rings in theaters. I rewatched them with my brother last year I believe and I forgot how amazing this series is so maybe it is time I start reading the books. (Date added: January 1st, 2014)

  4. The Power of Habits sounds good, I might borrow it next time from the library. I want to read some non-fiction for a change :P

One of the oldest books on my TBR is 'The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry'. I added 7 books on the same day, so I randomly selected this. I was going to pick 'In a Dark, Dark Wood' but just saw the reviews and now I'll be taking it off the pile. Which made me think, I should review my TBR list every year or so, to comb out the ones I no longer have any interest in or has a bad score. Have you ever removed any book from your TBR?
