It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #22 | Going Vintage

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.
What I Read Last Week

I read two books this past week and it was such an abysmal week. Two books with two stars 😕.
I love Raven so when I read Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia I was deeply disappointed. I have the angsty Raven in my head and this was not her. Her story was also told in a very jumpy manner from chapter to chapter. The Louisiana setting was great though but that's about it. It has made me want to seek out comics with her or the teen titan group.

What to Say Next was... eh. I like the premise but never felt anything for the characters individually and for them together. Julie Buxbaum's Tell Me Three Things was a lot better.

This is why my subheading says "Going Vintage." I've been watching a lot of people on YouTube who enjoy dressing up in vintage clothes and making their own vintage clothes. I absolutely love it! I've been wanting to learn to sew, make my own clothes, and now wear vintage looking clothes. I LOVE 50's fashion so Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek is turning out to be so much fun. Love it!

Up Next

I'm planning on reading Tomboy and What Can(t) Wait next. They are both for my YA class but I'm excited for both. I feel like I would be able to relate easily with the main character of Tomboy since I felt very much like that a good portion of my life. I don't consider myself girly but I do like a lot of typical girly things even more so as an adult. I've been wanting to read What Can(t) Wait for about six years so it's time to see if that wait was worth it.

What are you reading?

  1. I had a disappointing read recently that I slogged through because the reviews were good and I thought it might get better for me! I didn't blog about it today, but maybe I will. Your vintage clothing adventure sounds like fun!
