Book Recommendations for the Pisces in Your Life

Last year I tried to start a book recommendation series called Book Recommendations for the (zodiac sign) in your life. I did this with Aquarius and then I ghosted on that series. So I decided to pick it back up. A few months ago I really got into the zodiac symbols and what they mean. I've laughed at a couple of them for my symbol although I do see similarities in a few characteristics. Others I kind of want to bring out in myself but I'll talk about that more when November rolls around.

You are a Pisces if you were born February 19th through March 20th. According to Astrograph, Aquarians bear the symbol of Two Fish. They are friendly, likable, moody, introspective, dreamy, imaginative, easily influenced, sensitive, creative, and compassionate. My brother is the Pisces in the family. I would say most of what is said by Pisces resembles him surprisingly because with the Aquarius sign I thought my father resembled only a few of the of the characteristics. My brother reads a lot of comics, alternative types of books that no one in the main stream is reading, sci-fi, and fantasy. I don't know all of his book tastes though.

The characteristics I'm drawing from when looking for book recommendations are: Creative, Introspective, and Emotional.

Creative means to be involved in something involved in the imagination or original ideas.

All Four Stars by Tara Dairman fits the description of being creative since Gladys not only cooks gourmet meals, she starts making meals with her own twist to them as well as writing her own pieces critiquing restaurants.

A Company of Swans by Eva Ibbotson fits the description of being creative because it has Harriet abandoning her old life in search of a new one where she is able to express herself through ballet.

Boys Don't Knit by T.S. Easton fits the description of being creative because it has Ben going out of his comfort zone (in hopes that a hot teacher would be involved) to learn, excel, and creatively think outside of the box when taking up knitting.

Introspective means you are examining or observing your own mental and emotional processes.

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver fits the description for introspective because it has Sam reexamining her actions and who she is as a person as she relives the last day of her life over and over again.

Sheets by Brenna Thummler fits the description for introspective because it is set around the after world, death, and the feeling around the story is introspective in regard to losing a loved one.

My Life in Black and White by Natasha Friend fits the descriptions for introspective because Lexi has to reexamine her worth now that her face is filled with scars after a car accident.

Emotional means that your feelings are easily excited and openly displayed.

Deadline by Chris Crutcher fits the theme of emotional because Ben has to face death on his own since he has decided to not let anyone know.

The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen fits the theme of emotional because Jessica, a runner, loses her leg in an accident and must find it within herself to run once again while also bringing a new friend along for the ride.

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia fits the theme of emotional because Alex must fight her paranoia, illusions, and other effects she faces as a result of having schizophrenia.

What books do you think fall under the characteristics of a Pisces?

  2. My brother is a Pisces, but I don't know how many of those words actually describe him! This is a fun series, though.
