November 2018 Book Releases

It's time for another book releases post! I have been loving doing these because it forces me to see what new books are out there. It makes my tbr list grow too, but eh. It's worth it.

Side Note: For all of you who are doing NanoWrimo good luck and remember to take care of yourselves.

I hope you enjoy this list of books I'm looking forward to reading coming out in November!

Space Cat and his Martian wife Moofa, with Colonel Fred Stone and their two lively kittens, take a break in their routine Earth-Moon trips for a more thrilling visit to one of the planets Alpha Centauri.

In this distant solar system they have the most remarkable and amusing adventures. The planet is of the same type as Earth but there is something very different about it, so everyone on the space ship Einstein is in for a great many surprises, some pleasant, some unpleasant - all exciting.
So, Space Cat and the Kittens is a pretty odd pick for me. But do you see that cover? Those illustrations are in the book. I don't know how I've gone four books in not knowing this series but I really want to read it. Like give it to me now, please and thank you. It's just weird and cool looking and just yes. You know what I mean?

Myth, hack, sex symbol, stark raving lunatic—all of these words have been used to describe Antonio Luna, the world’s greatest living adventurer. Or at least he was until 20 years ago, when he mysteriously vanished from the public eye. Now the ninety-year-old has returned and claims to be on his deathbed. Which is where Valentine Richards, a failed novelist turned reporter, comes in. Val is hired to travel to Luna’s remote castle home and uncover where the old star has been all these years, and just how much of what he says is actually true. But once Val starts to hear Luna’s tale, she finds herself entering into an insane world of psychedelic violence and explosive supernatural adventure.
Death Bed is another strange pick I want to read. I was iffy about the concept but then I read a review by Comic Bastards that swayed me towards a yes for this comic. Mainly I love the art. I can easily be swayed by a book by the cover art or illustrations inside when it comes to comics or graphic novels. I just love art in general. The creatures the MC fights is apparently like zombie possibly mythical creatures. I'm not entirely sure. Death Bed just look so cool and I'm willing to give it a try.

"Femi makes three, you know. Three and they label you a serial killer."

Korede is bitter. How could she not be? Her sister, Ayoola, is many things: the favorite child, the beautiful one, possibly sociopathic. And now Ayoola's third boyfriend in a row is dead. Korede's practicality is the sisters' saving grace. She knows the best solutions for cleaning blood, the trunk of her car is big enough for a body, and she keeps Ayoola from posting pictures of her dinner to Instagram when she should be mourning her "missing" boyfriend. Not that she gets any credit.

A kind, handsome doctor at the hospital where Korede works, is the bright spot in her life. She dreams of the day when he will realize they're perfect for each other. But one day Ayoola shows up to the hospital uninvited and he takes notice. When he asks Korede for Ayoola's phone number, she must reckon with what her sister has become and what she will do about it.

Sharp as nails and full of deadpan wit, Oyinkan Braithwaite has written a deliciously deadly debut that's as fun as it is frightening.
My Sister, the Serial Killer is the ONLY book I recognized that was going to be released this November. I must have looked up like Fall releases last month or something because that is the only way I could fathom recognizing any of these books. I am so out of the game as far as new releases so that's why I say this. Anyway, this cover is amazing. Do you see what is in the reflection of her glasses because I just noticed and it is awesome. I'm dying to read this book. There's something about the cover and the synopsis that is getting me hyped. Please, be good.

Wear magic on your sleeve--20 teeny-tiny embroidery projects for completely unique pins, buttons, badges, patches, and more.

Discover the magical world of Irem Yazici’s embroidery. Flowers, moons, and UFOs are just a few of the 50 motifs presented in Tiny Stitches. Wear your heart on your sleeve, literally, through small-scale projects for embroidered pins, buttons, patches, and more. Embellish your outfits, decorate your walls, and make unique gifts for your loved ones with these 20 colorful and stylish projects.

From celestial to nautical, botanical to fruit motifs, and many more, in this book you’ll find 50 modern motifs along with 20 beginner-friendly, fun project ideas featuring easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions with full-size photographs and helpful tips. Besides stitching, you’ll learn how to make your own buttons, pins, and patches that will take your creativity to the next level.
Tiny Stitches is also another strange chose for me to want to read. But, from afar I've kind of gotten into/want to get into sewing and one of the things that I searched for/saw a lot of was embroidery patches. Now I hate embroidery yarn because it is eight threads of yarn together that you must take apart to then sew something at least from my experience and it is hell. It is literal frustration level tp the max, hell. HOWEVER, I kind of want to get into making embroidery patches. I think it is a really cool thing that has been coming up for a little while now and I'm here for it. Also, I saw Yazici's instagram and she's a weird little artist which I'm here for.

Take two American teen chefs, add one heaping cup of Paris, toss in a pinch of romance, and stir. . . .

Rosie Radeke firmly believes that happiness can be found at the bottom of a mixing bowl. But she never expected that she, a random nobody from East Liberty, Ohio, would be accepted to celebrity chef Denis Laurent's school in Paris, the most prestigious cooking program for teens in the entire world. Life in Paris, however, isn't all cream puffs and crepes. Faced with a challenging curriculum and a nightmare professor, Rosie begins to doubt her dishes.

Henry Yi grew up in his dad's restaurant in Chicago, and his lifelong love affair with food landed him a coveted spot in Chef Laurent's school. He quickly connects with Rosie, but academic pressure from home and his jealousy over Rosie's growing friendship with gorgeous bad-boy baker Bodie Tal makes Henry lash out and push his dream girl away.

Desperate to prove themselves, Rosie and Henry cook like never before while sparks fly between them. But as they reach their breaking points, they wonder whether they have what it takes to become real chefs.
If you know me, you know why I want to read Love à la Mode. It is about food. Well, really whenever I say that it is a little wrong because it is most likely not just any type of food - it is dessert. And that is my reasoning. That and a cute looking romance. Really? What more can you ask for?

Tiger is a very lucky kid: she has a monster living under her bed. Every night, Tiger and Monster play games until it’s time for lights out. Of course, Monster would never try to scare Tiger—that’s not what best friends do.

But Monster needs to scare someone…it’s a monster, after all. So while Tiger sleeps, Monster scares all of her nightmares away. Thanks to her friend, Tiger has nothing but good dreams. But waiting in the darkness is a nightmare so big and mean that Monster can’t fight it alone. Only teamwork and a lot of bravery can chase this nightmare away.
Does the cover of Tiger vs. Nightmare not remind you of Jenna Marbles, Who You Fighting?, meme or whatever? The look on this tiger convinced me. The synopsis is also really cool. I've never heard of anything like it which I love.

Ethan’s dad is a comic artist whose greatest creation, the mutant superhero Kren, brought him fame and glory. But after his dad’s string of successful books, a tragedy strikes the family and now his dad is completely stuck.

If only artistic talent were hereditary. Ethan is stuck on a graphic-novel project of his own at school and won’t own up to the fact that he can’t draw. When one night an ink-blot creation emerges from his father’s sketchbook, the family’s whole world begins to change.
I was on the fence with Inkling. Ultimately the cover convinced me which sounds ridiculous, but it's the truth. The lettering in ink compels me to read this book. Ah, I love it. It is by Kenneth Oppel as well and I do like the creativity of the plot. I can see the father-son relationship happening which I appreciate. I don't know. Inkling could be good.

Can you love someone you can never touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control—even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments, or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon, he’ll turn eighteen and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.

What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?
Five Feet Apart is becoming a movie apparently with Cole Sprouse and I'm all here for that. I at first was drawn to the gorgeous cover. I thought that it becoming a movie could be a problem because usually too hyped of a thing or books to movies aren't that great in the YA world but I'm hopeful. I do feel like it has a Fault in Our Stars vibe but not like it is going to be an exact copy. It just seems sweet and like I'm sure someone is going to die so I can cry my eyes out. Such a strange thing to want but that's me in a nut shell. I like crying over books. But, I have this small hope for a happily ever after.
