Boo-A-Thon 2018 | TBR

Boo-A-Thon is a Halloween themed read-a-thon hosted by The Book Pusher from October 24 - October 31st. You can read, listen to music, or watch movies. There are seven challenges you can partake in throughout the read-a-thon. Below are the seven challenges and what I plan on doing with them.

I've chosen to watch Hocus Pocus for this first challenge because 1) Hocus Pocus is a classic Halloween story and 2) The main witch has orange hair! Perfect fit.

I've chosen to read To Kill a Kingdom for this second challenge because 1) It's been months since I've had this book and I haven't read a single page and 2) It is an Ursula retelling that I didn't know I needed in my life.

I've chosen to watch Coraline for this third challenge because 1) This movie is amazing 2) Coraline is an adaption of Neil Gaiman's book of the same name (the movie is better) and 3) The story fits the Halloweeny mood.

I've chosen to watch Spirited Away for this fourth challenge because 1) The challenger kept on saying this concept was vague 2) I kind of cheated with the name but I don't care and 3) This has a bit of a scary/lost vibe that fits in with Halloween to some extent. I'm reaching, I know.

I've chosen to read Born Wicked for this fifth challenge because 1) I loved this book when it first came out 2) I want to restart and finish the series and 2) Witches tend to be enchanting.

I've chosen Love Among the Chickens for this sixth challenge because 1) I tried to get someone to recommend me a certain book. Then, my cheating ways made me feel guilty so I looked on friend's recommendations on Goodreads and here this was 2) I like chickens. Shout out to Daphne on Goodreads for recommending this to me three years ago!

I've chosen to tweet #Booathon while reading/watching my challenge picks AND I want to comment on seven new blogs participating in the challenge.

Are you planning on joining OR have you joined a Halloween themed read-a-thon this year? What spooky stories are you exploring this Halloween season?
