#FitReaders: I got a great idea from Grace @ My Book Snack to try having one day of eating vegan. I plan on coming up with what I want to eat that day and presenting it to my parents. I live with them and don't have a job so they control what I eat which can be frustrating, but I have it good so I shouldn't complain. I'll let you know how it goes next time.
My goals for this May is to lift twelve-pound weights by the end of the month. I switched to ten-pound weights about a month ago which is harder to lift with my workouts than you think. At least for me it is. I don't know what my plan is for the amount of weights I want to lift in total for this year, however I am thinking lifting would be a really good strength training workout. I still can't try it until I'm able to lift the bar which is like twenty pounds. It's lucky my dad has a bar and weights or I would have to embarrass myself at the gym. Speaking of the gym, does anyone go? I don't work out my legs as much as my arms using weights so I'm thinking that might be a good solution in the future.

How did you do this week? Are you reaching your goals?
I hope things are going well trying out eating vegan. A slow transition is the way to go. 10 lbs is hard to lift, but with regular lifting you should get stronger and then be able to lift more. I'm still doing the 10 lb kettlebell, and working towards the 15 lb one.
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan. I still will have to keep using 5 pound weight for some tricep moves though. Maybe I can slowly transition with 10 pound weights. I don't want to strain myself though.
DeleteThat's great! I don't have a kettlebell myself. It would be great to try out new exercise moves with one.
Good luck moving to vegan one day a week. I've been a vegetarian most of my life and am slowly moving towards being vegan. It can be a challenge (especially if you aren't able to make your own menu) but can be so tasty too.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be learning to cook a lot more with this process and I need to meal plan better. I already had my vegan day and will let you know how it went. Why did you go vegetarian if I may ask?
