The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things received and share news about what's coming up for the next week ahead.
This Week:
Yes, it is not Sunday. But, I've had a lot going on this weekend! Mainly hanging out with the parents and cleaning out my ENTIRE room. Hope everyone's had a relaxing Labor Day and great week!
The first week of school has been a success. So far it looks like my classes are going to be easy *crosses fingers* but it depends on what's going to happen with this one class that officially starts this week.
Last Week on the Blog:
I got to review The Hunger Games an old read of mine and I asked the question: Do you believe that something like The Hunger Games world could ever exist? I also finally read and reviewed Bad Taste in Boys and asked the question: Does anyone have a recommendation of a zombie book you loved? I took a recommendation from my mom and read Unraveling Isobel which I loved. I still haven't started Gameboard of the Gods but I promise I will. I blame the page count for me not starting it yet.
Around the Blogosphere (a.k.a. my to-read list is now larger):
Some books I added to my to-read list that I can't wait to get my hands on: Sia, All the Truth That's In Me and Minders thanks to (Readers in Wonderland), Maybe, Tonight thanks to (IceyBooks), and In This Moment thanks to (The Quiet Girl Talks).
Some posts I enjoyed: Zombies: Not My Thing (The Sirenic Codex) and In Which I Announce a Book. My Book. (IceyBooks)
There's a decision that's been made concerning the Miami-Dade Public Libraries. They are not getting rid of any libraries. They will be cutting hours. Instead of 251 lost jobs there will be 169.
Plans for Next Week:
I'm planning to review some children's books this week. I will read Gameboard of the Gods! And I also want to review Twigs and read some library books.
So upsetting when libraries fall victim to budgets, here in Omaha the town rallied and came up with the budget to keep hours and jobs, in part thanks to an anonymous donor. I bet your room looks nice, I use to love deep cleaning it..it lost its glamour when I have to deep clean the whole house now and not just my room...but it is a wonderful feeling..LOL
ReplyDeleteYou're back to children's books and I go back to fantasy :) It's gonna be a great week for both :) Here libraries aren't closing but considering that we only have two there is no point. I'm sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteI like the children's books you have been sharing this week. Hope the room cleaning went well. That is something I love to do because I feel so refreshed after everything is organized and in its place. :) Glad the classes seem pretty easy so far! Yeah!
