It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #18

This meme is hosted by Book Journey

So what did I learn these last two weeks? Never try to schedule anything. Never stop doing something because you feel overwhelmed. I haven't felt like reading or blogging or anything for a while. I've just been pretty much blah and I keep on talking about it or thinking about it and I'm driving myself crazy. So when I said I was going back to the basics a while ago it's going to be the actual truth. I'll be blogging and reading whenever I feel like. There will be no set anything except maybe this meme because I like going over the last week. I know I talk about this so much and I'm sorry if I'm being very inconsistent but I'm working on it.

Currently Reading:

"Once upon a time, Hudson knew exactly what her future looked like. Then a betrayal changed her life, and knocked her dreams to the ground. Now she’s a girl who doesn't believe in second chances... a girl who stays under the radar by baking cupcakes at her mom’s diner and obsessing over what might have been.

So when things start looking up and she has another shot at her dreams, Hudson is equal parts hopeful and terrified. Of course, this is also the moment a cute, sweet guy walks into her life... and starts serving up some seriously mixed signals. She’s got a lot on her plate, and for a girl who’s been burned before, risking it all is easier said than done.

It’s time for Hudson to ask herself what she really wants, and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to get it. Because in a place where opportunities are fleeting, she knows this chance may very well be her last..."

I'm almost halfway through this book. How the main character has been acting around her crush seems like something someone younger than her would act. But, she's a teenager so it makes sense. She has this whole tough act going on which I am ever thankful for. I didn't want her to moon over a guy all the way throughout the book. It's looking good.

What are you reading this week?

  1. Aw, this book sounds cute. It's kind of annoying when characters act differently than you expect from their age group.

Right now I'm reading The Trouble With Toads and The Returned.

    1. I think it's just me. Teenagers do act all crazy around their crushes but she she's getting better which is nice.

Look forward to reading your reviews of them (:

    1. It's a very nice book. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out especially since there is a possible fight between daughter and parent.

  6. Bittersweet sounds like a fun read.
Regarding your blog, you should never do it because you feel you have to. It sucks all the fun out of a hobby in my opinion. I recently went through a some what similar thing but made up a plan that I know doesn't put pressure on, that I will enjoy working on and that allows me to be consistent without taking the joys out of my blogging. If I skip a post here or there, its not the end of the world.
Reading and blogging is something you should enjoy, not feel to be a duty :-)

    1. Thanks for the follow! I will check out your blog (:

I'm slowly stepping back and realizing that if I don't post everyday it's not the end of the world.

  7. I used to go through a lot of phases where I felt like blogging was just a burden. I couldn't keep up with my TBR pile, I was behind on writing reviews, I would get stressed out if I missed a blog post, etc... I decided to go back to the basics. I stopped taking submissions and only read books I WANT TO READ. I also started scheduling most of my posts, usually a month at a time so there's no daily pressure about getting them up. This way I just have to keep up and respond to comments =)

  8. It's important to keep blogging a fun and stress-free hobby! If it becomes a chore, then it's not worth it. I used to feel pressured to have a daily post, but I've relaxed a lot lately - definitley enjoying it more!
