It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #3 (Tuesday Edition)

Weekly meme hosted by Book Journey

This is a Tuesday Edition because I was very sick yesterday and still am but I'm much better. I was basically dead to the world yesterday for a while there. I wanted to do this even if I ended up doing it on a Tuesday because I wanted to show you all the many books I got which never happens. I am very proud of myself getting all these books so hope you enjoy this Tuesday Edition of It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Past Week Reads

Give Up the Ghost by Megan Crewe is an enchanting ghost story where the outcast becomes the hero.

Ever by Jessa Russo is another ghost story I read this past week where the main character is in love with her best friend who happens to be a ghost.

Crash by Jerry Spinelli is a story about a bully who finds someone the complete opposite of him and questions whether the way he acts/sees the the world is wrong.

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood is the story of three sisters with very special powers. Always on guard of The Brotherhood because they are secretly witches, new danger arises that will test their abilities and loyalties.

Book Club Read
My book club just started reading Witch & Wizard, the first in the trilogy. A couple of the book members couldn't believe how short the paragraphs were and thought the book was childish. That's what you get for reading the same authors! And it's a teenage book so of course it feels childish to my mom and tia's. So far I'm really liking it. The first part of the book is the background. I'm liking the characters but wish they wouldn't be so clueless to their obvious powers.

Possible Reads

Blue Violet is actually not a possible read anymore because I finished it late last night because it was sooo amazing! It's just a hassle to move things around and it looks so pretty here.

This Dark Endeavor is a retelling (I guess) or prequel to Frankenstein. High hopes for this one.

Freakling is probably the most excited I have been for a NetGalley read. Look at it! It's gorgeous! The cover reminds me of Hugo Cabret and I feel like it will have that whimsical feel.

Reviews Coming Up

I've read both of these books a while ago so I finally am going to do a review on them. The Golden Compass will be compared to the movie.

Readalong

I am so behind on this readalong! I was doing great with the first book but I struggled to want to read the second book. I have resolved myself to read it. It's not like I didn't like The Golden Compass. It's more like I just didn't feel like it at the time but I want to now so let's see if I do.

New Purchases

I hardly get books so I am happy that I got so many. The Exceptionals was because of a review I read somewhere... the bloggers friend said it was X-Men and Scooby Doo in one book or something like that. Then the blogger wrote a great review so that I just wanted it.

In Front of God and Everybody is a book I've been wanting for months. I think it's Christian Fiction but that's not why I want it. I read an excerpt of it and it just really captured me. It's also supposed to be hilarious so I'm really happy I can finally get it.

Aaaahhhhh! Yes, I got The Mark of Athena. I don't think I need to say why I got it. I got it because it exists.

New Purchases (Free)

All of these free books I got from the Sony Ereader Store. Some are previews (ParaNorman, Curveball), a lot are indies (Cage of Bone, Finding Lily, etc), some are 0.5 books that I haven't read the first book (Intuition), and other indie but known or just known books (Prince of Wolves, Meeting Destiny, and Exiled). I consider a lot of the books very pretty. Only one cover I really don't like but their all free so I'm pretty happy I was able to come out with such a big haul.

    1. Well hopefully it's amazing so I can let you know whether it's worth the buy. My guess - oh please yes!
      I got lucky with reading so much this past week. I usually only get to read like two nowadays but I guess I've been in the zone which is the greatest place to be for a reader (;
