New Year's Resolutions + December Wrap-Up

Source
2016 is coming upon us and it's time for those New Year's Resolutions. I love making lists and goals so I'm the type of person who makes resolutions for the year. I know sometimes I don't work on my goals the whole year, but I don't think I'll ever be deterred not to have at least one resolution. One of the most important ones always on the top - reading more books!

My Book Resolutions

  • Read more picture books
  • Read more graphic novels and mangas
  • Keep track of reading challenges
  • Read non-fiction books
My Non-Book Related Resolutions

  • Draw for fun again
  • Try learning how to crochet
  • Try your hand out at new recipes
  • Exercise and drink water regularly
  • Explore religion and pray
  • Take more pictures
I have lots plans as you can see. Last month I had a grand old time almost getting caught up to my NetGalley reviews. Only three older books left to read and review. Hallelujah!

And... rewatching Bob's Burgers was basically my life other than Lizzie Bennet Diaries and new book to vlogs. Among them, I finished The Misselthwaite Archives (The Secret Garden).

Binge-watching Classic Alice where our main character acts the way characters in books would when facing a certain situation in life. You might get some spoilers of classic books, but you might end up forgetting and like me be enticed to read some classics.

Also, binge watching Green Gables Fables (Anne of Green Gables) which has some awkward acting from the main actress but ultimately made me want to read about Anne and Gilbert.

I also watched and loved Jessica Jones and Dark Matter and got into... Into the Badlands. Star Wars was amazing. I watched Hallmark movies galore. I watched how awesome Project for Awesome was this year and I'll be getting a poster soon of TFiOS - woot!

In real life, a cousin was born. And of course, most of the gifts I've given her are books. I completed my Fall semester (I'm sorry to say goodbye to art class). My dog's weird creepy eye is semi-okay now (he had to have surgery for an ulcer). I enjoyed spending time with my family around Christmas time and I enjoyed blogging and commenting more than I have in a while (I still need work in that area). It was a pretty great break and thank goodness there is more to come.

In December I Read

  • Counting in the Garden by Kim Parker
  • Nonsense! by Edward Lear
  • Fancy Nancy Tea for Two by Jane O'Connor
  • Some Kind of Magic by Adrian Fogelin
  • A Girl Called Malice by Aurelia B. Rowl
  • Yotsuba&!2 by Kiyohiko by Azuma
  • Court by Cat Patrick
  • P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
  • I Wish for You by Camilla Isley
Favorite Books of the Month: A Girl Called Malice and I Wish for You

And without further ado, onto the books!

Every January I read way more books compared to the rest of the year (not including read-a-thons in Summer). There will be ten days of freedom before the next semester and a Bout of Books is going to take place so... I have lots of books in store. Admittedly I've maxed out the number of books I can get from the library in anticipation of the new year. Here are the books I have my eye on reading this January:

Finding Serendipity -- Backlash -- Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Sword of Summer -- Princess Academy -- The Year of the Fortune Cookie -- Almost Home
