Crazy Summer Readathon // Sending My Love

Source

The second day of the Crazy Summer Readathon is over and I'm feeling competitive. I'm participating in this team challenge on Goodreads and I really want to back up my team and read a colossal amount of books this week so things are going to start getting crazy.

So many thanks for your compliments on my poem!

Emma and her neighbor Peter are both lonely in a way that only bothers them on occasion. They both come from families they don't quite understand. They both feel like something big is missing from their lives and they're both about to search for answers. When Emma makes a discovery that shakes the foundations of her identity, she convinces Peter to join her for a road trip. Each of them has something to find: For Emma, it is a grave, a grave that may be her only connection to her family. Peter is seeking something harder to define, but perhaps easier to navigate freedom, a sense of something more than what he has. Together, they take to the open road, engaging in a universal quest to make sense of who they are and where they come from and learning a thing or two about love along the way.

Mrs Olinski, paralyzed ten years ago, returns to teaching Gr 6, and chooses four trivia team students, who become champions, in more than the state competition. Each narrates a section. Julian Singh, the strangest one on the school bus, invites Noah, red-haired Nadia, and silent Ethan, to Sillington House for tea 'always at four'.

Daily Challenge: Letter to a Character

Dear Blue,

Congratulations. You have worked hard to look cool and you have succeeded. Your nonchalance of the weird and abnormal make me wish I had your experiences. But, in all honesty I would have high tailed it and ran a long time ago. Your confidence is refreshing and calmness in dire situations kind of scary.

I know you don't think you are more yet, but there is more more in you than there is any other character I have ever met. Your ability to make things louder is just the beginning, but even without that ability you still are one female protagonist I will always remember. Your day will come though. Those boys of yours are just like you - meant for more. Just wait. You'll see. Good luck in your journey. I hope it all turns out well.

Remember to try not to kiss any boys but I won't blame you if you do.

All the Best,
Adriana

I really like your letter, too. Blue is such a unique and refreshing character, and I love the reminder at the end!

    1. I'm sure you would write a well thought out letter Stephanie since you write your reviews and riddles out so well.

It's a strange little book, but with a nice lesson.
