#FitReaders: May 8th, 2015 Check-In

#FitReaders: I wish I would have gotten more done this week yet I'm still happy with what I was able to do. It's going to be harder next week with my Summer class, but I'll try my best to keep up with my workouts. I also want to make sure I run next week which I haven't done in a while.

This week I tried out doing a vegan day which was interesting because I don't know how to cook. I didn't plan as well as I should have and I think it'll go better next time. I did learn how to make spaghetti which is actually easier than I expected. I know with further days like this I'll learn to cook, prepare meals, and plan meals for myself like an adult.

experimented with a smoothie for my breakfast: two bananas, one mango, almond milk, and spinach. It tastes better than my last smoothie I tried making (raspberries have too many seeds...) and it tasted good but, it was too cold for me and felt a little weird. I think I'll just stick to eating the actual fruit and vegetables when I plan my food. I've become better with eating healthy and more for breakfast which I'm really happy about. So this is a great learning experience. I don't really like fruits and vegetables so I have to experiment and get used to eating healthier so this is a great way to do that. Hopefully during the Summer I can add on one more vegan day.

How did you do this week?

  1. You are doing a great job living healthier. It is so important to find out what works for you and what doesn't. I haven't tried a smoothie for breakfast- but I have been wanting to for a while. I have been trying to be healthier too. I have been making in advance crust less mini quiches with egg beaters, broccoli, low moisture mozzarella cheese and some pepper. I only have to heat them in the microwave in the morning, so it is nice and a good way to start the day. You inspired me to do more walking (doing about 20 or more minutes 4-5 times a week) and to drink more water (I am drinking 1-2 more glasses a day than I used to). So thanks so much for helping to motivate me. :)

    Good luck when your summer class starts!

    1. That's a great idea to plan ahead with your breakfast. Those quiches sound really yummy (:
      I want to try to do the same with lunch and dinner because I feel like I have breakfast down pat.
      That's a fantastic amount of walking. I need to do mroe myself. I'm happy to say I feel stronger especially with my legs so I need to keep up with that. That's wonderful about your water intake. Having to write down how much water I drink has really helped motivate me to drink more. I was the same way with my water although there were days I would hardly drink any water or drink no water at all which wasn't good. Happy to help motivate you. You are pretty motivational yourself with your walking. I could learn a thing or two from you (:

      Thank you!

  2. Nice job!! The smoothie sounds pretty good to me. I'm planning on a strawberry and almond milk one tomorrow :D Some fruits are definitely better in those than others. Glad your first vegan attempt went fairly well :D

    1. Thanks for the support Anna! Your smoothie sounds delicious although I wish strawberries didn't have so many seeds. I prefer strawberry ice cream instead (;

    1. Exactly! I really need to see how I can make certain fruits and vegetables work for me if I'm going to be healthier. Haha, thanks so much for the support (:

    1. It's been hard to be consistent for me too. As long as you try that's all you can ask for yourself. Thank you!
