1st Blogoversary

One year ago today I created She's Got Books on Her Mind. Why did I create it? I had been viewing blogs for a good while (maybe a year or two) and I finally decided to create my own book blog. I really didn't know what I was getting into myself. I've learned a lot and even though my writing isn't where I want it to be I think I've improved. The blog is still growing like me and hopefully one day I will stick with a background (I doubt it). I know I may have not come in with a game plan because the only really thing I wanted to do was have fun with it I think I'm a little more in the know (whatever that means).

Throughout the last couple of months I've sometimes felt that I really need to get followers or get comments which wasn't the purpose of my blog. I know I need to chill with that and realize it's for fun! Which it is and I've slowly been less critical of my blog and will take it wherever it wants to go. I'm sure other bloggers will agree with me that you sometimes feel pressured to blog all the time which I have for no reason.

There are three things that I really love about blogging. One is how many books I discover by not only finding books on Goodreads but NetGalley, and indie authors but with other blogs. I love comments too. I get really happy when I get comments like I know others do. And the final thing is making friends with all these other bloggers. The blogging world is like a family and that's how I think of it. Sometimes you get stressed out with blogging and I have been like I said critical of what I write especially since a lot of others are so good at it and get more response from other bloggers right away. But I know my blog is again growing and it will continue to grow. It may be gradual but it doesn't really mattered because I love reading and being able to share my reads with the world. It's also not just a teen blog or a children's blog or even a blog for adult's. It's everything and I love it that way.

So I just wanted to say thanks for following or even just viewing one time at a regular girl's reading blog. It's been pretty fun and I can't wait to see how my blog is going to be in another year's time. So many possibilities...

  1. Congrats on having your blog for one year! Wow! You have done so much in a year! I always love visiting your blog- and the every changing background keeps me on my toes. I find this one peaceful. Blogging is certainly an adventure- and I know I have learned a lot since I started. Seeing comments is always nice!

    Happy one year! :)

  2. Congratulations on your blogoversary, and here's to many more! I'm a relatively new follower--I started following around September 10th. :) Keep on going! I stress myself out with mine, too, and hopefully we'll stop putting pressure on ourselves. We're our own worst critics, but we can be our own best cheerleaders! :D
